Summer moments

 

I hope all of you are well and, despite the epidemy, enjoying safely this summer.

I have selected some of my summer moments to share with you and even give some ideas in case you also postpone travelling by plane, favouring more the car this year. Budapest in summer can be nice, especially thanks to the Danube that offers many nice spots, little islands and even more isolated tourist spots where you don’t risk to run into big crowds of people (Margaret island, Szentendre, Buda hills and panorama spots).

And in order to create tasty memories, Budapest offers you many sweet shops (Cukraszda, Fagylaltozo, Edessegbolt, Pekseg)  where you can find cakes, icecream, slices of torta (similar to the birthday cake), sweet pastries, mouse-like desserts, fruit salads) so you can taste each time something different. 

Another nice discovery is the small town of Passau, in Germany which offers many places to enjoy in the sunshine – especially in the old centre. 

If you have time to go a bit further (or closer, depending or where you live), Balchik is also a charming seaside resort where you can find everything that you need, pleasant hotels with good prices (Antik, Queen Maria, Los Dos Gallos), relaxing landscape and very nice people.

 So stay healthy and give a chance to low-level tourism, you could discover things you may like for the rest of your lives!  Have still a nice summer 🙂 

 

Baden-Baden, a perfect place in spring

Hello again everyone! After you finish cleaning for Easter,  you can save a few minutes to enjoy some nice photos I have taken in Baden-Baden, a small quiet place with therapeutic waters, lying in the south of Germany.

I had read about it many times so we decided to give it a chance and discover this town. We were impressed by the classical architecture with Romantic influences of this charming place, situated in the valley of the Oos river. It was founded by the Romans who also discovered the thermal waters that, later in its history, created the fame of this corner of the current Germany.

Concerning the cultural aspect, there are many original places where you can not only spend time but also learn nice things and hear original stories; I made time to visit the Faberge Museum (in Sophienstrasse) where we were welcome by an original Russian lady who is totally convinced that ”Russia is the best country, culture and society ever” :):):):):). An amazing and romantic spot is the Old Castle – Castle of Hohenbaden, that is up on a hill, surrounded by old gardens, nice paths, many birds and old trees – a real marvel.  You can also spot easily the Ruins of the Roman Thermae, very well capitalised, the Trinkhalle (the Thermae settlement) and the old Casino around the centre.

 

I hope that my little presentation is convincing, especially that this zen Baden-Baden is a place that can entertain any category of visitor. There is also the Mont Merkur, a nice hill that you can reach easily from a point close to the centre; you can take a funiculaire or walk and it offers a nice forest air and great views from the top. When it will be safe enough, it can be an amazing location for a nice little trip with your loved-ones.

 

A, the most important aspect – wherever you may walk, it is full with cafeterias or cake-shops. It is impossible :):) to resist; if I listen to the Italians – ”Il migliore modo di resistare alla tentazione e di cedere” – than I tell you: Carpe Diem. This is what I did, I ate every day at least a cake, out of which the most famous is of course the Foret Noire.

The Castle of Urspelt Castelul Urspelt

Located among some nice hills of Luxembourg,  the present Urspelt Castle was built more than 300 years ago. The former farm of the castle was turned into an elegant restaurant and the inside yard was upgraded even with a jacuzzi, functioning during the warm season. Combining a history lesson with a romantic accommodation experience, I can say that the Urspelt castle is today one spot that you need to see during your stay in Luxembourg.  While being also a ”National Luxembourgish Monument” it is also the only castle-hotel in the Grand Duchy.

 

As with its 4-stars  it can be quite expensive, I advise those interested also in sleeping in this castle to follow their website as they offer constantly reductions for the accommodation or special packages.  I have been lucky to enjoy a reduction for a weekend so I had no doubts and went to discover this place. I have to say that it is the first 4star hotel where I have had champagne for breakfast and the personnel were also kind with us.

 

Other nice ideas are an underground level bar decorated very nicely still bearing some medieval architecture traces, a nice fireplace in the castle yard, a small spa inside the castle (paid separately) and some romantic rooms with everything that you may need (cosmetics, tea, coffee, small agenda, magazines to read). The atmosphere was peaceful, emphasized by a nice background music in the castle yard after sunset – meant especially for the fireplace spot.

I would recommend this place to romantic people, couples, history lovers or anyone wishing to have a little romantic break from a busy life for some time. I hope to go there again and check what other champagne brand I discover for the ”romantic breakfast”. 

 

Once in a while, after having saved some money, you can dive in the world history and feel even for a night that you are a princess & a prince; for this romantic fantasy I think that the Urspelt castle is doing a great job.

Situat intr-o zona cu dealuri frumoase din Luxemburg, actualul Castel Urspelt a fost construit în urmă cu mai bine de 300 de ani. Fosta fermă a castelului a fost transformată într-un restaurant elegant, iar curtea interioară a fost modernizată chiar și cu o jacuzzi, ce funcționeaza în timpul sezonului cald. Combinând o lecție de istorie cu o experiență de cazare romantică, pot spune că acest castel este un loc pe care trebuie să-l vedeti în timpul șederii voastre în Luxemburg. Deși este, de asemenea, un „Monument Național luxemburghez”, este și singurul castel-hotel din Marele Ducat.

Cum hotelul are 4 stele, serviciile pot fi destul de scumpe, îi sfătuiesc pe cei interesați să  și doarma în  acest castel să  urmareasca site-ul, deoarece oferă reduceri în mod constant pentru cazare sau pachete speciale. Am avut norocul să profit de o reducere pentru un weekend așa că nu am avut niciun dubiu și am mers să descopăr acest loc. Trebuie să spun că este primul hotel de 4 stele în care am avut șampanie pentru micul dejun, iar personalul a fost, de asemenea, drăguț cu noi.

Alte idei frumoase sunt un bar la nivel subteran, decorat foarte frumos, care poartă în continuare niște urme de arhitectură medievală, un foc de tabara în curtea castelului, un mic spa în interiorul castelului (plătit separat) și numeroase camere romantice cu tot ce ati putea avea nevoie (produse cosmetice, ceai , cafea, agendă mică, reviste de citit). Atmosfera a fost complet zen, subliniată de o muzică de fundal frumoasă în curtea castelului după apusul soarelui – destinată mai ales locului pentru foc cu bancutele din jur.

Aș recomanda acest loc oamenilor romantici, cuplurilor, iubitorilor de istorie sau oricui dorește să facă o mică pauză romantică intr-o viață cotidiana plină. Sper să merg din nou acolo și să verific ce altă marcă de șampanie descopăr pentru „micul dejun romantic”.

Din când în când, după ce economisiti ceva banuti, puteti calatori putin în istoria lumii și puteți simți chiar și pentru o noapte că sunteti prințesă și prinț; pentru această fantezie romantică, castelul Urspelt face o treabă grozavă.

Rămâneti în siguranță și  fiti activi! Bucurati-va de timpul prețios alături de cei dragi 🙂 🙂 Pe curând 🙂 🙂

 

 

 

 

 

 

A Happy New Year 2020 !

A Happy New Year 2020 to everyone with amazing health, joy, success in all your plans and resolutions and happiness day by day!!!

Accompanying this short 2020 post, a small photo from Bulgaria is meant to bring you light, seaside fragrance, peace, hope and trust for your present and future. This zen spot is located on the border of the Black Sea, in a little resort which is charming and quiet. I wish to keep its name secret but who can travel along the coast of this sea, they can discover this one and many other infinite spots from the north side, near the Danube Delta, in Romania, till the south of Bulgaria, around Nessebar or further.

 

Va urez tuturor Un An Nou Fericit 2020 cu sanatate excelenta, bucurii, succes in toate planurile si rezolutiile voastre si fericire pentru fiecare zi! 

Pentru a acompania aceste urari, am atasat o poza din Bulgaria care sper sa va aduca lumina, aroma marii, pace, speranta si incredere in prezentul si viitorul vostru. Acest coltisor zen se afla pe malul Marii Negre, intr-o mica statiune care este linistita si fermecatoare. O sa ii tin numele secret insa oricine doreste sa descopere coasta Marii Negre poate gasi acest loc si multe altele incepand din partea nordica, de langa Delta Dunarii, in Romania si pana spre spre sudul Bulgariei, aproape de Nessebar sau chiar mai departe.

Summer splendours

Thanks to the different places I’ve seen, I had the chance to catch some amazing summer moments. Here are a few of them that I wish to share with you, along with my wishes for you to have a second summer during September !

 

 

 

 

 

These photos have been taken in Romania, Hungary and Luxembourg, in order – up in the Sky Tower in Luxembourg, Merl park roses (2 & 3), the Budapest Zoo, the Black Sea waves in Neptun, an amazing fruit tree in the Ansembourg Castle garden (Luxembourg), Budapest by night (on the left the Gellert Baths) and some amazing hibiscus flowers in a little green area of Bucharest.

I hope you like them and that they bring you for a little while a fresh feeling of holidays!

A bit more Prague for breakfast !

Hello again everyone, greetings from me, the little fairy !

Seeing that my fellow-blogger is feeling so ”workingly romantic”, I have decided to post some more photos from the 🙂 romantic city of Prague. I took them during a romantic trip and sorry for the lack of sunshine….which, still, we had it in our hearts 🙂  I hope you like them and, as some tourism advice, go there better between May-September. 

The last photo is from my home country, from Mangalia, a nice town on the border of the Black Sea.

A magical secret castle

 

Luxembourg, even small as it is, doesn’t lack tourist spots to charm its inhabitants or tourists. As time goes by,  I keep on discovering nice spots, each with its unique specificity and beauty.

Such an example is the charming castle of the  Larochette town, located in the centre of the small duchy, surrounded by the beautiful landscape of the Müllerthal region.

Being of about nine centuries old, the castle still offers many built spaces to see, great views from every corner and a nice garden welcoming the visitors at the entrance. It’s worth seeing all the parts of the castle area such as the wine cave, towers, dining hall, balcony with former bathroom and all the others, thinking of how they have been used along these centuries.

Desi mic, Luxemburg nu duce lipsa de locuri fermecatoare care ii incanta atat pe turisti cat si pe locuitori. Pas cu pas, descopar tot felul de locuri frumoase, fiecare cu unicitatea sa, unele aducandu-mi aminte de calatoriile mele in Romania si Bulgaria.

Un loc pe care il recomand celor care ajung prin aceasta zona este castelul din oraselul Larochette, ce se afla in centrul micului ducat, localitate inconjurata de frumoasele peisaje din regiunea Müllerthal, denumita Mica Elvetie a Luxemburgului.

Vechi de aproximativ noua secole, castelul ofera multe spatii de vazut, desi in ruine, o panorama frumoasa din orice colt si o minunata gradina care ii intampina pe vizitatori inca de la intrare. Merita sa vedeti toate partile complexului architectural cum ar fi pivnita de vinuri, turnurile, sala de ospete, balconul cu vechea baie si toate celelalte, imaginandu-va cum au fost folosite si locuite in toate aceste secole.

Happy Days !

A nice snapshot from Porto, during my trip of last year. A joyful street in the centre with some nice decoration paper balls creating a happy corner. I hope it brings all of you a big smile!

Un moment placut in Porto, din timpul vacantei de anul trecut. O strada micuta si vesela in centru cu niste lampioane colorate care creau o atmosfera vesela si varatica. Sper sa va aduca un zambet vesel!

A nice place of Romania Delta Dunarii

This is an amazing place of Romania, called the Danube Delta, in the south-eastern part. It is the moment when the birds are coming back, in spring. The landscape and vegetation are unique in the country and it is beautiful to see the river Danube flowing into the Black Sea. Sorry, the photo is not clear, but I hope some details can be perceived.
