A song for Ukraine

The British artist Ed Sheeran has released these days a song that he had filmed in Kyiv, Ukraine, a little bit before the Russian attacks against Ukrainians. The song features Ed Sheeran and rapper Lil Baby performing in the cold streets of Kyiv before “the devastating acts of violence started”, as Ed Sheeran himself explained. The singer has added a personalised message too, in white and black, at the beginning of the video, sharing his support for this Eastern European nation. This song, ” 2 step” is part of his latest music album, “=” (pronounced “equals”), which was released publicly in 2021.

Also, related to the same subject, he also shared his thoughts on the 11th March 2022:

“11 Mar 2022, Ukraine

What we’re witnessing in Ukraine weighs heavy and my love goes out to all of those affected by the devastating conflict. The Wednesday thought

The word I have in mind for the wise thought of today is a very important one I think. For those who have this emotional strength life can seem amazing; for those who don’t, there are many ways to get it and keep it. But this whole process is not easy, even for those who feel it or have it naturally. This word is Faith.

Sometimes and you may have lived it too..it so hard to keep the faith but we all have the good old and amazing Bon Jovi & his team to teach us that, right? 🙂 But we all know that sometimes nothing can work. There is stress, there are maybe small moments of bad luck… or just a very bad night sleep…and everything seems dark grey. But we must remember, especially in these complicated moments of our lives, that after the rain it is always the sun that is coming. This thought should accompany us every day, no matter what weather we have where we live 🙂

Let’s keep the faith always up inside us and offer a bit also to others when they need it.

Faith and trust go many times hand in hand so I wish you to be able to have them as a good support for your inner strength and evolution as with such h of power of mind, nothing can stand in your way. But, let’s admit it, we don’t need to move mountains, 🙂 I think most of these ones in Europe occupy a good spot. But as long as ”we keep our faces in the sunshine, we shall never see shadows”…I don’t remember who has said this but this wise person is clearly right.

The Castle of Urspelt Castelul Urspelt

Ursp castle

Located among some nice hills of Luxembourg,  the present Urspelt Castle was built more than 300 years ago. The former farm of the castle was turned into an elegant restaurant and the inside yard was upgraded even with a jacuzzi, functioning during the warm season. Combining a history lesson with a romantic accommodation experience, I can say that the Urspelt castle is today one spot that you need to see during your stay in Luxembourg.  While being also a ”National Luxembourgish Monument” it is also the only castle-hotel in the Grand Duchy.

As with its 4-stars  it can be quite expensive, I advise those interested also in sleeping in this castle to follow their website as they offer constantly reductions for the accommodation or special packages.  I have been lucky to enjoy a reduction for a weekend so I had no doubts and went to discover this place. I have to say that it is the first 4star hotel where I have had champagne for breakfast and the personnel were also kind with us.

Other nice ideas are an underground level bar decorated very nicely still bearing some medieval architecture traces, a nice fireplace in the castle yard, a small spa inside the castle (paid separately) and some romantic rooms with everything that you may need (cosmetics, tea, coffee, small agenda, magazines to read). The atmosphere was peaceful, emphasized by a nice background music in the castle yard after sunset – meant especially for the fireplace spot.

I would recommend this place to romantic people, couples, history lovers or anyone wishing to have a little romantic break from a busy life for some time. I hope to go there again and check what other champagne brand I discover for the ”romantic breakfast”.

Once in a while, after having saved some money, you can dive in the world history and feel even for a night that you are a princess & a prince; for this romantic fantasy I think that the Urspelt castle is doing a great job.

Stay safe and stay active! Use the precious time with your loved-ones :):)  Till soon :):)

Classical music in Bucharest Muzica clasica in Bucuresti ‘Magic Exists!’

piata-palatului4   It is with great joy that I promote another edition of the George Enescu Festival, taking place in Bucharest between 2-24 September 2017.  It reunites famous and new artists and music lovers can enjoy free concerts outside in the open air or they can go to the concerts inside the Athenaeum where the best orchestras of the world play every year.

For those who want to know a bit more about the life of the character giving his name to this festival, the Romanian composer George Enescu, I recommend them to go and visit the George Enescu National Museum, which can be found not far from the festival location: Calea Victoriei, nr. 141, sector 1, București (open from Tuesday-Sunday till 17 and Wednesday-Thursday till 19, a ticket is 6 lei).

There is a link here with information about all the festival events, both in English and Romanian:          http://festivalenescu.ro/program/serii-de-concerte/piata-festivalului/

In the old photo above, towards centre-left, you can see a building with a nice cupola and round small windows and antique columns which is the building of the current Athenaeum.

So, enjoy the Magic!

Ma bucur mult sa promovez editia 2017 a Festivalului George Enescu, ce are loc, ca intotdeauna in Bucuresti, in perioada 2-24 septembrie.
