Simona Halep conquers Roland Garros!

It has finally happened! A Romanian player has won the Roland Garros tennis tournament and….it had to be Simona, of course! She deserves these magic moments, she has worked a lot for this and we, Romanians, are also celebrating this amazing victory with her, today and this whole year while she has this title.

After defeating A. Kerber and G Muguruza in the previous matches, showing a great condition, Simona has met today a new entry in the top ladies of the world tennis – Sloane Stephens. Never underestimating her opponents, she prepared and had a lot of work to manage finally to get and enjoy the most beautiful victory of her life, the dream she has had for 12 years. The moment was magical and all the Romanians in Paris and everywhere prayed for her to win and supported her all along the match.

After 40 years, as in 1978 another Romanian player Virginia Ruzici won the same cup, the Roland Garros cup for ladies comes back to Romania, to Constanta. I would say that the French reporters on tv were right – Constanta has moved to Paris! And, yes, the Roland Garros trophy has moved to Romania, a very happy Romania!

THANK YOU FOR THIS AMAZING VICTORY, SIMONA!

Bucuria ei este si bucuria mea, oriunde m-as afla in aceasta lume.

Martisorul The 1st of March

Martisorul is a very nice Romanian spring celebration that also exists in a few other countries. In general, men offer on this day little objects to any female persons in their lives as a sign of friendship and celebration of spring. It can be anything – little animals, flowers, birds, drawings, shells and it is even more valuable if it is handmade.

I hope that all of you will have nice surprises on the 8, some of you must have had already some on the very 1st – after all, any day is good to bring a smile for the people we love; even men can receive such a little thing, at least if we get inspired from our neighbours in Bulgaria 🙂

I wish all of you a Magical Spring with good health, vitality and happiness near those special ones in your lives!

martisor

Royalties and Love Despre Regele Mihai si dragoste

This article is meant to bring homage to our last king, Mihai of Romania who, unfortunately, left us last December, aged 96. This special Man who, despite his foreign origin had a Romanian heart, represented beautifully a peaceful and secret land, forgotten among hills and plains and dominated by the magical castle of Hohenzollern. Even if he received many times harsh reactions and mean words from the authorities of Romania, he always responded with Good; moreover, he loved our country and tried to help it as many times as he could.

Thus, God knew how to reward his good soul – at a very young age he was lucky to meet the love of his life, the future Queen Ana of Romania. They were lucky to choose freely one another and to live their love and lives together till the end of their lives. They always reminded me of my grandparents and their generation, times when there was much less wickedness in the world and less obsession to buy buy buy or to own screens of any type and length…Their generation knew how to cherish Love when they found it, unlike people of today.

They represented, with their modesty and fine education, an old world… but still present and they constantly got involved in charity actions and tried to help every time they could. I remember how, every year for the King’s birthday, he organised the ‘Open Doors Day’ at the Elisabeta Palace and always liked to speak a bit to the people who came. As for his followers, to be honest, I sincerely appreciate Prince Nicolae and Princess Elisabeth-Karina, two young people with great hearts, education and character; while the fake gossips about the Prince Nicolae’s paternity leave me totally cold…I know that he is not that type of man and am sure that people can try many times to use for their purposes any occasion when being around someone ‘with  a name’ which is, in any case, pathetic. They remain my favourites of the new generations of the Romanian Royal House, along with the other grandchildren of the King and Queen.

So, I sincerely let my heart sigh for this beautiful pair of royalties, non-Romanian but still Romanian, in love for a lifetime and who prove, even if nowadays absent, that goodness in life is rewarded, maybe not with great treasures but with the greatest of all – true love, that one we are all waiting for…

             ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

In urma meciului castigat in semifinale cu Jelena Ostrapenko (Letonia), Simona a ajuns nr.1 mondial, o performanta unica pentru tenisul romanesc.

BRAVO SIMONA!

Again great news for the Romanian tennis: Simona Halep has become on the 7th October the no. 1 tennis player in the world, due to her results in the China Open Tennis tournament in Beijing.

Also,  after I have waited for so long, I could finally enjoy the moment when she managed to defeat Maria Sharapova (Russia), for the first time in her career, with a beautiful victory and the score 6-2, 6-2, at the same tournament.

After the match she won in the semifinals against Jelena Ostapenko (Latvia), Simona becomes the world no. 1, a unique performance for the Romanian tennis. Here is what she said after this match: ‘No words can describe what I feel now. It is amazing that I have become the world no. 1. I thank all my fans for their support. I have managed to play some incredible matches. Thank you, China!’

Also, out of all the congratulating messages she has received, she has confessed that the nicest message is the one received from another famous tennis player from the US, Serena Williams, to whom she immediately thanked for the nice wishes.

I truly hope that Simona Halep continues to stay in the top of the world best tennis players and manages to give us constantly many reasons of joy that we are Romanians, being happy by her side.

WELL DONE, SIMONA!

European Table Tennis victory for Romania in 2017! Victorie pentru Romania in Campionatul European de Tenis de Masa 2017!

echipa ro ping-p medalii aur camp 2017 Lu

After several years of efforts and four consecutive finals,  Romania has finally built up the magic and won the 2017 ITTF European Table Tennis championship in Luxembourg city, on Sunday, 17th of September.

Reuniting five amazing girls, Eliza Samara, Daniela Dodean, Bernadette Szocs, Adina Diaconu and Irina Ciobanu, their coach Viorel Filimon encouraged them to play ‘one for all and all for one’ and never stop believing in their chance.  The coach has confessed for the press, by saying: ‘ I have waited 12 years for this gold. Finally we have reached it. We did not have any special preparation; our main weapon was the great quality of each player.’

After Monica Niculescu’s victory at the BNP Paribas Luxembourg Open in 2016, the Romanian Ping-Pong team continues with another victory, strengthening the positive energies for Romanian players in Luxembourg.     Congratulations to the girls and the best of luck for the rest of 2017!                    Photo: www.crisana.ro

Poza:  www.crisana.ro

Romania and UK, together for peace

london spot

In general, I try not to write about certain themes as I wish to keep my blog out of the crazy world around us. But there are sometimes stories that get into my heart and I just cannot ignore them  🙂 .

Such a story is a recent one about a baker named F. Morariu who is a simple but great example of how I see Romanians- helpful, good-hearted and honest. At a certain point it even gets funny but it is a surprising story about helping people in need around us , about not drowning in this selfish ocean where we all swim and trying to be a good Christian, yes I am not afraid to say it.

There are many articles on the website and here you can find some stories:                        https://reportuk.org/2017/06/05/london-attack-romanian-baker-and-spanish-banker-among-heroes/

I hope these modern heroes will be well protected in the future as their stories have been present in newspapers for everyone to read. I admire them and hope to live as soon as possible the day when I won’t see such things in Europe ever again. I hope to live the day when such criminals will be forever eliminated from our society, when youngsters can enjoy a concert or people like us can have a cappuccino without being afraid they may get killed for nothing. Europe is ours, it is OUR grandparents who died in the world wars and not some oriental citizens, we appreciate our way of life, we respect women &equality and who likes it it’s fine, who doesn’t like it can just go where they came from. I hope the war in Syria will be over sooner, most of the soldiers will come back in their countries so there will be no reason for such things. I hope European countries will wake up and see they live a war that is not theirs and will do something before all of us get killed….for nothing.

To end in a nice way, my congratulations for all these London heroes, thank God the good human spirit is more alive than ever and let’s just pray for peace, for the Europe we had before, for being free to live our culture as we wish wherever in Europe and travel safely everywhere on this planet!

Take care of yourselves wherever you are and always follow the path of the Sun.

p.s. Congrats to amazing Simona Halep 🙂 playing in the Roland Garros tennis tournament, we want to see you play the finals!! Succes Simona!

Roger Moore and Romania

It is with sadness that I found out that Roger Moore died yesterday. I had no idea he had a cancer as I’ve constantly seen him these years in different movies. He was charming several generations with his roles and beautiful blue eyes.

Besides the famous James Bond series and other similar films, I liked him also in an unknown movie, made in the past years. The title is ‘A princess for Christmas’ and I am subjectively mentioning it as it is set in one of the most beautiful mountain sites of my country, Sinaia. Roger Moore was very happy with the movie team, both from USA and Romania and the amazing mountain landscape impressed everyone.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1083448/

If you have some free time it is worth seeing it with someone special as the end will make you want a kiss 🙂 I am sure Sir Roger Moore will always remain in our hearts and will continue to live through his movies and his three children.
